About Our Job Fairs
Nova Scotia Works, in partnership with the employment centres FutureWorx, Job Junction, Opportunity Place, TEAM Work Cooperative and YMCA Halifax, hosts job fairs with great success for job seekers and employers. We hosted a Spring Job Fair on May 4, 2023 at Daplex and a Fall Job Fair October 3rd & 4th, 2023, at Cole Harbour Place in Dartmouth, NS. The next job fair will be held April 17th and 18th, 2024 at the Halifax Shopping Centre Annex, 7071 Chebucto Road.
Employers who are actively hiring are invite to reserve a complimentary booth at the 2024 Spring Job Fair. Job Seekers can sign up here for updates.
What to Expect at our Job Fairs
Nova Scotia Works Job Fairs offer the following services and benefits:
- job fair prep sessions at your local employment centres
- free resume printing at your local employment centres
- free resume copying at the Job Fair
- an accessible, inclusive and safe location
- access to a quiet/sensory room
- access to multilingual staff, including professional ASL interpreters
- Nova Scotia Works staff on-site to provide assistance at Job Fairs
- complimentary booth space for actively hiring employers
Past Job Fairs
In May 2023, 110 actively-hiring employers plus sector councils and community groups met with over 2,346 job seekers in Halifax, NS, in one day. A Fall job fair was held October 3rd and 4th, featuring up to 35 new employers each day, with a total of 1,165 job seekers.
A free resume copy centre, interpreters and other services were available to job seekers.
We strive to provide an accessible job fair to all. ASL, Ukrainian, French and Arabic interpreters were available at our 2023 Job Fairs. Our venues are fully accessible, including a staffed quiet/sensory room. Nova Scotia Works staff were ready to assist with job search related questions and much more.
